My bio should read “Gillian hates writing bios”. Seriously. I write all the time and writing my own bio is painful. Like, stepping on Shopkins in the middle of the night painful. Are Shopkins still cool? I don’t know, but I have a rubbermaid container full of them. In thirty years when Shopkins are collectibles I’m going to make a damn fortune.
Okay, stop procrastinating Rowinski!! The people want to know who you are. Get on with it!
I live in Port Coquitlam, BC with my husband Chris and our three kids (Zosia, Lily and Ander). I am a writer, a certified professional coach, and the creator of Unlearning SuperMom. Prior to my work as a writer and coach, I spent ten years in the corporate world as a Human Resources professional specializing in leadership development, change management and performance management. As a coach, I currently specialize in neuroscience and transformational coaching. As a writer, I contribute regularly on the Huffington Post.
Other bits and bobs:
I’m a gregarious introvert (which means I can work a party, but I need a nap after). I’m addicted to books. I care deeply about being a conscious parent, and how I’m raising my kids. I love enthusiasm, and laughing, and good music, and good chocolate. I refuse to take myself too seriously. I am deeply curious and love listening.
Most importantly, I’m so glad you’re here. In a world full of noise and distraction, I am deeply grateful for the time that you spend reading, practicing, and spreading the word.
Lots of love to you all!
